More about this plan
Nauthólsvík is the summer move: a small engineered beach on the Skerjafjörður where a geothermal hot lagoon (38°C) sits feet from the cold Atlantic. You alternate — hot, then brave the cold for thirty seconds, then hot again. It's a practice, not an activity. By the end you'll feel about four years younger.
Bus or cab back into town and go straight to Tacobarinn on Laugavegur for fish tacos and a tepache. Summer date, sorted.
The plan, stop by stop
- 1
Nauthólsvík geothermal beach
Alternate between a 38°C geothermal lagoon and the cold Atlantic. Free entry in summer, towels and showers on site.
- 2
Dinner at Tacobarinn
Bright, loud taco joint on Laugavegur. Fish tacos and a tepache hit after a cold swim.
